Pay with crypto

Ask about paying for your shack in USDT, USDC, Bitcoin or Ethereum. Same price and the deed in your name, subject to approval by the seller and the notary.

The price is set in US dollars and the crypto amount is calculated on the payment day; the deed records its equivalent in Mexican pesos. As Mexico’s anti-money-laundering law requires for payments with virtual assets, your identity and the source of funds are verified. This is not an investment and promises no returns: it is another way to pay the price. Check the tax treatment with your accountant.

Getting there

ZIH has nonstop flights year-round from Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston and Mexico City, and seasonal flights from San Francisco, Chicago, Minneapolis, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Monterrey.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly am I buying?

A 58 m² (624 sq ft) Luxury Surf Shack, 36 m² inside plus a 22 m² private deck, inside Casa Akaw: 18 shacks on two floors with a pool, coworking and shared areas. Before you reserve, we share the title type, the condo rules and the maintenance fees.

Is it titled?

Yes. The shack is new and is deeded in your name before a Mexican notary (notario público). Before signing, we share the condo rules, the maintenance fees and the certificate of no liens (certificado de libertad de gravamen) so your notary can review them.

Can a foreigner buy it?

Yes. La Saladita is inside Mexico’s restricted zone (within 50 km of the coast), so foreign buyers hold the title through a bank trust (fideicomiso) with a permit from Mexico’s Foreign Affairs Ministry (SRE). Read our guide on buying beach property in Mexico as a foreigner.

Can I pay with crypto?

It’s possible, subject to approval by the seller and the notary. The price is set in US dollars, the crypto amount (USDT, USDC, Bitcoin or Ethereum) is calculated on the payment day, and the deed is signed in Mexican pesos before a notary in your name. Your identity and the source of funds are verified, as Mexico’s anti-money-laundering law requires. The wallet and the exact amount always come in your contract, never by message.

Can I rent it out when I’m not there?

Casa Akaw already operates as a guesthouse. Ask about the rental program and the operating fee. We don’t promise occupancy or returns.

How do I get there?

Fly into Zihuatanejo (ZIH) and drive 45 to 50 minutes north on the coastal highway. The beach is about a 5-minute walk from the property.

How does it hold up to the coastal climate?

The containers are fully insulated and oriented for the sea breeze. Ask for the structural report, how the containers are anchored and the corrosion protection, and consider insurance that covers hurricanes.

Will it go up in value?

We don’t promise that. La Saladita is a well-known longboard wave with demand from surfers and remote workers, but it is a small, illiquid market. Buy it if you love it and want to use it.
